We have created a google map which pinpoints the parking locations and the available unloading places during the festival. Just check out the bookmarks and Google will direct you to and from that location. But please check out the different parking lots for rates and height restrictions.

Parking cars in Antwerp

You can park on the streets of Antwerp but parking is payable except on Sundays and Public Holidays (such as Monday 28 May 2012).  Within the city centre parking is payable between 09.00 and 22.00; in some streets behind the Frankrijk- , Italie-, Britse- and Amerikalei, parking is payable from 09.00 to 19.00. ! BUT with a limit of 3-hours after which you need to renew your parking ticket!

There are lots of parking buildings and underground car parks in the vicinity of the Arenberg Theatre and the hotels (check your hotel website for details). The nearest are:

  1. Parking Arenberg (OudeVaartplaats 2) is round the corner from the Arenberg Theatre.  This building has limited access on Saturday and Sunday because of the market.
  2. Parking Stadsschouwburg, Meistraat 4, 2000 Antwerp
  3. Parking Horta, Hopland 24, 2000 Antwerp
  4. Parking Hopland, Hopland 38-40, 2000 Antwerp
  5. Parking Inno, Hopland 45, 2000 Antwerp
  6. Parking Nationale Bank (underground) – this is the largest and the cheapest.  Access via tunnels on Frankrijklei (city outbound) and Van Eycklei (city inbound). (€6 for 24 hours)
  7. Parking Diamant, Appelmansstraat 25, 2018 Antwerp
  8. Parking Groenplaats (underground), Groenplaats, 2000 Antwerp – Access via Schoenmarkt
  9. Parking Oudaan (underground), Oudaan, 2000 Antwerp

Free parking is possible:

On the Singel (inner ring of Antwerp), the parking at the Desguinlei, on the “Gedempte Zuiderdokken” and a part of the quays alongside the river Scheldt.

Public Transport:

The buses, metro and trams are operated by De Lijn.  Tickets can be purchased in newspaper stores, supermarkets, at Antwerp Tourism & Convention or from vending machines near bus and tram stops (PRE-SALE) OR from the bus driver directly (is more expensive).

The following rates apply when you take a tram or bus:

  • A single ticket: EUR 1.20 / directly from the driver: EUR 1.60. It allows you to use public transportation (buses and trams) for one hour purchased in advance.
  • 24-hour pass: purchased in advance: EUR 5/ directly from the driver: EUR 6

  • 3-day pass: purchased in advance: EUR 10/ directly from the driver: EUR 12

  • 5-day pass: purchased in advance: EUR 15 / directly from the driver: EUR 18
  • 10-ride card purchased: in advance: EUR 9/ directly from the driver: EUR 11 (can be used for several passengers)
  • A monthly pass costs €19.30 for those under 25 years of age, or €24.50 for those between 25 and 64. This can be bought from one of the "De Lijn" shops. It is worth buying a monthly pass only when you use public transportation on a regular and frequent basis.
